5 Ways to Teach Hip Targeting

How do you teach your horse to move his hindquarters TOWARDS you? This video shows you 5 different techniques to train it.

Body part targeting is where the horse moves a specific body part to your hand or other target – in this case, we want the horse to move his hip towards your hand.

This exercise is great for body awareness, as well as useful for exercises such as in-hand work and lining up to be mounted.

In this video, you’ll learn how to make this lesson clear, relaxed and fun for your horse.

    1. well, everything gets easier once you’ve trained it a few times before! But, there were some wobbles and moments of confusion and changes of approach – these are in the full how-to videos in the CT Club, but didn’t fit into the blog version, which was just an overview 🙂 Thank you!
