Postural Feeding Exercises at Halt

This is a simple feeding technique to help your horse explore postural alignment and exercises at halt.

CT Coach Angelica Hesselius walks you through what it is, the benefits and some of the exercises you can try with your horse. As always, we encourage you to listen to your horse and work gently at the level that is right for them.

A little each day will really help improve your horse’s flexibility, evenness on both sides and postural engagement over time. You will also learn to see and feel more in terms of your horse’s movement and posture as you practice, too.

Do these exercises for only a few minutes each time. If you want to practice more than this, you can separate your continuous feeding sessions with breaks or other activities that involve fewer treats and perhaps some movement.

Angelica is a Connection Training Coach and Academic Art of Riding Coach. You can find out more about her and her work at: https://www.rewardbasedartofriding.com/
