Going to the Gallops and Swimming with the Horses | A Clicker Trained Horse Adventure!

Whoop whoop! I love a horsey adventure! The gallops at Middleham are up on the moors with fantastic views all round. It was a balmy summer evening, we had the place to ourselves and we even had a wonderful impromptu swim at the end.

Since I was supposed to be in the South of France right now with my horses and the whole trip was cancelled due to Covid-19, I’ve been feeling a little short-changed on horse adventures this year. So, it was great to meet up with my friend Sophie and her horse, Elfine, for this trip. 😍

There are a few training snippets in here, but it’s mostly just a fun one so come along for the ride and enjoy it with us 😁🐎

Hi, Love the video , my kind of riding . What treats do you give freckles as I see he has a bit in his mouth ?

    1. Hi, no, Freckles and Elfine are both bitless in this video πŸ™‚

However, I often ride India in a bit (without a noseband, which she prefers) and she gets just the same treats and is easily able to chew them, whether that’s nuts, mix or grass πŸ™‚

    1. I love it! This one is a Citroen, but I had a Vauxhall before this. You need to get the extra long wheel base and extra high roof if you have horses rather then ponies. I got this one converted by horsebox build company with the top priority being payload so I can travel them both so it’s very lightweight materials and a minimal design. There are quite a few on the market both new and second hand in the UK now – though since you called it a ‘float’ I guess you’re not in the UK… Good luck finding one or getting a van converted! πŸ™‚

  2. Hello ladies,
I loved the swimming afternoon with the 2 horses,
    Fantastic!
I used to take a horse swimming as a kid, we both loved it too.
Thank-you and I hope all is well around you.

    1. Hi Cindy, yes it’s the best isn’t it? My aim in life is to feel like that pony mad kid as much as possible – it certainly is a lot of fun for me and the horses love to play, too. Never grow up! Glad you liked the video and thanks for your comment πŸ™‚
